R.I.P. Jay & Kay Pop

August 23, 2010

A fond farewell to my babies, Jay Pop (10 July – 19 Aug 2010) and Kay Pop (10 July – 21 Aug 2010). I will miss you very, very much and I can’t stop imagining what you went through in your last moments. My heart is broken when I think of you, but Heaven is a better place to be in.

The weekend – Langkawi with the family – was a wonderful, much needed, much appreciated break. It’s been 10 years since we last went on a family holiday and 10 years since I last visited to Malaysia. Niceee. Until my family gets back tomorrow, I’ll have the house all to myself… it’s like college days all over again when I get to be alone and do all my rubbish.

Happened to switch on the tv and the youth olympic games was on – track and field. Ah, it brought back memories of the good old glorious days. I’m now wondering what happened to my spikes? I don’t remember seeing them go. Anyway, was trying to observe and learn good running techinques from the Kenyans. It’s easy to tell who’s gonna win by just watching running style, posture, and stride. And the girls are all so tiny! I miss being 16/17.

Anyway, no real heart to write now… gonna go to the gym to run on the treadmill since running with the office gang was self-called-off cus I didn’twanna ruin my new shoes in the rain. Going to run and run my thoughts dry. No wait, or better still, I think I’ll go play the piano instead. Perhaps both.

5 sad things

July 31, 2010

1) I really love and cling on to dying trades, and one of these dying trades I love is tutu. yeap, tutu from the old man at clementi. the same man who, as a young man, used to sell tutu outside acs primary to my dad as a boy. the best in singapore. so yes. I recently found out that the old man had passed away. the thing I dreaded most every time I used to buy tutu from him. goodness knows, eating tutu will never be the same again, and I’ll never get to see his skilful, fast hands at work again. and what’s more, he looked a little like my grandfather. I’m gonna miss him so much. I’m sure all his faithful tutu fans will too.

my favourite tutu uncle @ vivo city, 2008

people here ought to support these old people more. what they have is unique and precious, and it’s kinda like the only remaining key to our real past seeing as to how the government has destroyed most of old town singapore. (that’s why if for e.g. you ever have to fix a shoe or so, bring it to the roadside cobblers and not the fancy commercialised shops!!) singapore is fast becoming a country with no living historical monuments- once the older generation passes, that’s it.

2) was chilling at marina square’s starbucks this evening with my rents (both are now in singapore btw) when I, to my utmost horror realised how POOR my eyesight had become. I’m indeed saddened cus even though I’ve realised it’s gotten worse (and I know the reason why), it’s not like I can really control it anymore. unlike school days… just don’t study haha. but yeah. there goes my eyesight.. and together with it, my dream of being appointed first woman cadet pilot of singapore airlines. SIGH.

3) baby hammies due to move out this weekend. gonna miss them, and paddle, and mango, and… haven’t decided who else yet. I CAN’T!! I love them all. choosing who stays and who goes is like choosing who to send to the gallows. NOT that I’m saying bren won’t take good care of my darlings, but I’ll miss not seeing them everyday.

4) hockey has begun to suck more than ever. and it’s only because it’s not ice hockey. everythign would just be so much better if the rink just magically turned to ice. the game would be infintely more fun. the rules of inline are plain confusing. and somewhat annoying.

5) it’s sad that I waste away every weekend feeling sad. no doubt I look forward to the weekend all week long, but once it rolls around everything goes wrong. and then it’s over. and then it goes wrong again. and so on.

oh well. to make my weekend less sad, I’ll be staying off my lappie so that my pitiful eyes aren’t subject to any further harmful screen time. byee

ps. oh yeah, foo power: very nice, like the name :) bff: start leaving love notes so I know you’re alive
